Saabcars Website Open

National Electric Vehicle Sweden AB has recently updated the Saab website to include information about the company executives, Saab's planned product range, and a news page.

Currently, NEVS is "extending and further developing the Saab brand in passenger cars with a new visual identity founded on Scandanavian heritage, where the four distinctive seasons, long distances and extreme road conditions have shaped the Saab passenger cars." The company has signed a licensing agreement with Saab AB to use the Saab brand for its products and services, and the Saab wording will be featured in dark grey or silver on future products. For more information, and to also view the "four season" logos, visit www.saabcars.com.

Event: The Saab Spirit Lives On

The Simeone Automotive Museum will present a special show, “The Saab Spirit Lives On,” from February 23rd to March 17th. The exhibit will feature 18 cars from the collection of Bill Jacobson, owner of Sports Car Service of Wilmington, Delaware.

The Saabs on display will include a 1956 Sonett 1, of which only six were produced, a 1996 “Saab Talladega Challenge” 900 model, and a Barber Saab Pro Series open-wheeled racer.  Many notable Indy Car drivers such as Juan Pablo Montoya began their racing careers in a Barber Saab. The newest Saab on display will be a 2011 9-5 Aero, which was the ending production of the Saab era.

Tim Colbeck, the most recent President of Saab Cars North America and current CEO of Saab Automobile Parts North America (SPNA), will be speaking at the event opening on Friday, February 23rd at 5:30pm. John Moss, well known to SCNA members, will be the guest of honor for the event.
