Meyer Garage Fire

On Monday, October 29th there was a fire at the Meyer Garage (http://www.meyersaab.com/). Some details follow thanks to Jon. We are glad that no one was hurt and that Marty's team is back at work. Let's support Marty and Annette and do whatever we can to get them up to speed ASAP.

"At about 4:00 yesterday a fire broke out in our tire storage room. The other tech I work with tried to put the fire out but the tires had already taken off and burning pretty quick. Marty, Chris, and Christene all made it out fine. Our tire room, small paint booth hooked to the room, and our lower portion of our shop is completely gone. The upper half has about a quarter left on the south side, the parts room burnt about a quarter of it off. Our showroom, race car work area, used parts room, and Marty and I's unobtainium parts shed were untouched.
We only lost 3 cars. Marty and Chris got our 08 9-3 (we just got on Saturday) out and Marty's Sonnett III made it. The 69 V4 Deluxe is toast along with the parts that were in it (Brand new transmission), the Moonracer is a body shell w/ nothing left and a good friend of mine's 52 Jaguar XK120 is gone. Chris's tool box is gone, I can see mine tipped over but don't know if it's good. All of our hard copy service manuals burnt, special tools ranging from 64-08 are somewhere in the wreckage.
It's a mess. But were looking at being back to work on Thursday hopefully. I'm back in Mankato now so they have internet through the phone and finish classes today and probably going back down tomorrow. Right now the fire marshall and the insurance people are coming today. Probably going to start working out of our garage at home or my uncle's place down the road. "
